Hamilton was also responsible for telegraph stations, post offices and lighthouses including Gawler Telegraph Station of 1860; these types of buildings are described as ‘neat four-roomed telegraph stations’ (Page 1986, p.34) with Gawler ‘probably the best example’ (Sherrin 1985, p.25).
