Tudor-Gothic design.
Stark (1984: 144B) cites Goodhugh (1852) as attributing these buildings to Stuckey but is not conclusive in his findings, stating ‘it would appear that Stuckey at least acted in the capacity of supervising architect’. Stark further states that the attribution of this building to William Weir in Morgan and Gilbert (1969) appears to be incorrect.
The building was known as the Parsonage (1850-1887), the Deanery (1887-1906) and now the Rectory.
It was extended in the late 1880s probably to the design of Daniel Garlick (Stark 1984). |
